SIMON GABRIELOW Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) I have found the many inventive concertina box designs very amusing indeed..whether( originally) wooden, bucket, or a ladies 'vaniity box' conversion! Then it occurred to me. Maybe there should b a prize for the most unusual container for the concertinas!? ( please note .. not to be taken too seriously!)..😊😊😀 Edited June 19 by SIMON GABRIELOW
David Barnert Posted June 20 Posted June 20 So one chilly September morning maybe 30 years ago, my Morris team had invited another team to join us, touring some hill towns west of Albany, NY and we agreed to meet in the parking lot of a particular Stewart’s Shop (convenience store). As we were waiting for the whole gang to arrive, one by one we went into the store to order a cup of hot coffee or chocolate. When I did, I placed my concertina, in its case, on the counter next to the cash register to free up a hand to pay for my drink. Then I went back out to the parking lot. The cashier came out moments later holding my concertina case and said “Mister, you forgot your box.” For a moment I thought “That’s neat, she’s referring to my concertina as a box.” Then I realized she wasn’t talking about the concertina, she was talking about the box. 2
PaulDa321 Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I appreciate the Stewart’s reference above! I know somebody who uses a soft Igloo cooler lunchbox as their case!for their Wheatstone. Seems plenty protective. 1
