I think Crivit would be tools of some kind I'd pay 20 quid for that case on it's own, just so it doesn't have a high end expensive stuff I'll check their site to see when it's coming to Athlone, like ( giggle away, but Lidl for me is high end) Jim, the case came with the plastic boxes shown in the last picture. It was sold as a fishing tackle bag, so the boxes would be for hooks, flies, weights, floats etc. It cost just under 20 quid including the plastic boxes.. 1
4to5to6 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) I like the soft bag... I use one like this with a layer of foam in the bottom for day trips... otherwise I prefer the original cases... it's part of the vintage vibe... old wood hex cases with key latches for the mid 1800s instruments stored on their sides to prevent valve droop and the square leather cases for the early 1900s Aeolas, etc. I've built almost bullet proof flight cases out of plywood and resin with foam inserts and also used pelican cases but find them quite heavy overall; these are great for flying but generally I never let my box out of my sight. Paul Draper Posted June 21 Posted June 21 "Did you take the mirror out Paul ?😀" Strangely, for a vanity case, there was no mirror. 1
jim troy Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Thanks Theo, I'll keep a look out for it. (fishing stuff, two parrots sitting on a perch, in their cage, can you smell fish ? ) This is a camera bag, from back in the 80's (remember that other time we used to have ? ) Fitted my Lachenal CG well enough, but a bit of a scrooch for my present thingammy Label on bag read Shanks Mare Morris (Dublin, 80's ) Edited June 21 by jim troy add info

(But we're only going to use it as a cool-bag in the van.) Comlete with two carrying handles and removable/adjustable shoulder strap, and velcro tabs to fold it flat when not in use. Price, a total bargain(!), @ €6.99 Otherwise Lidl have smaller, lighter weight, concertina-sized cool bags, with handle and removable/adjustable shoulder strap, and complete with four lunchboxes and an ice pack, for a trifling €9.99 Edited June 29 by Stephen Chambers Typo 1
jim troy Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Stephen Yes, the Lidl bag, I have one. I wonder if you would shlide back to Skibbereen, and get me one of the Aldi ones ? I would reimburse you handsomely, if you would 'Reverse For Skibbereen' Seriously, them bags is very handy, when you're traipsing around Miltown, the Flight Case is grand, but after a while, well, hawking the yoke around that's fine for the fit young things, Vanity Cases, Stephen, you might have a vanity case, which I used to send/transport, a Concertina, to you. if you still have (or even if I did send it ! ) there would be rake of springs, buried in it. But no vanity mirror, I draw the line at that Edited June 29 by jim troy

If only Skibbereen could be reversed... 1
