pearlqueenlarose Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Due to the impending closure of a beloved music store near me, I was recently able to buy a beautiful old Pearl Queen for extremely cheap. While most of it is in excellent condition and is entirely fixable, it is not without major fault. It is missing a few small parts, and is in dire need of tuning. The latter is something I will have to resolve on my own, but I am I hoping someone on this forum has the parts I need. The main missing components are a couple buttons and the front grille, as depicted in the attached photos.

My guess is that you are more likely to get access to the bits you need by asking on the web-site of the Czech Area Concertina Club. There's also the Concertina Music web-site. That second site also has a page dealing with manufacturer-related data (including Pearl Queen, complete with a list of serial numbers and date of manufacture) here, and a seemingly endless list of recordings here... One or other of them also has a list of other Chemnitzer-oriented organisations - you may find what you want just down the road... Edited May 30 by Roger Hare
wschruba Posted May 30 Posted May 30 If you can inventory exactly what you need/dimensions of them, I, surprisingly, also acquired a pearl queen for cheap for parts, only to find out they didn't "fit" my older, simpler one. I would be surprised if everything fit without modification, but I'll happily measure what I have later when I get home...

I'm missing my 2/3 and 11 keys on the left hand side, both are about 9mm in circumference, and since I don't have the grille I can't give an exact measurement but the hole is about 12.5cm x 2.5cm. When I opened it up the signature inside said it was produced in February 1929, if that helps, since you mentioned earlier models being different.
wschruba Posted May 31 Posted May 31 (edited) I've attached pictures of what I have here; I would include the (full length) buttons as is, so they could be modified to wherever they need to be. The buttons are black/celluloid topped, and roughly 9.5-10mm in diameter. If you paid postage, you could have them as is. I've also got a few corners, etc, I could throw in the package. Did not mean to mislead you, as I myself so not own a functioning Pearl Queen, I figured there would be more interchangeability with the Uhlig Konzertina I have, but there was not, so many of the parts were not terribly useful. Still, for $20, I got a few things useable from it... Edited May 31 by wschruba

Let's discuss more in a direct message, since I'd rather not post personal details publicly.
