Tebbe Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 Hello guys, wanted to ask if by any chance somebody got the notes for Bink's Sake from One Piece? Think it'd go pretty well with the concertina. Would appreciate any tips/answers! Thanks a lot!
David Barnert Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 (edited) I never heard of this tune before, but I took the challenge. Working from this video (the original Japanese version), taking dictation, I came up with this. The original (both the Japanese and English) is in E flat, which I assumed you're not interested in, so I also transposed it to G (right below it). Edited to add: Ignore the tempo marking. It was added by my abc software and although it’s pretty accurate, it’s silly to express the tempo in terms of quarter notes when you’re in 6/8. Edited May 28, 2025 by David Barnert 3
Tebbe Posted May 29, 2025 Author Posted May 29, 2025 Thanks for the effort, that's crazy! I gotta try to translate the notes to the Gary Goover for now. If I got it together im trying to post a video, lmao

You can do that automatically from the site I linked above. Click the diagonal back-to-back arrows in the upper right corner. Then click the light blue “More Tools” link at the bottom. Two-thirds down the next page, find the pink “Inject Anglo Concertina Tab” link and click it. The next page gives you the choices of: Concertina tuning (keys), Jeffries vs Wheatstone layout, Cross-row vs On row fingering and has a check box for Gary Coover style tab (single notes only, overrides button name and direction settings). Thank concertina.net member @Michael Eskin for the utility of that site. 1

Michael Eskin Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 (edited) Here's the Anglo Concertina tab injection process, step-by-step (only works to open this in Chrome, 3rd party tool I'm playing with for step-by-step user guides): https://scribehow.com/shared/Injecting_Anglo_Concertina_Tab_into_the_Binks_Sake_notation__cSG9tLImTY2yFUm0VRDQVw Edited July 24, 2025 by Michael Eskin 1
gtotani Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Toru Kato has played this tune on his 40-button bastari. Yes, it goes pretty well with the anglo. Unfortunately, there is no sheetmusic available, as Kato-sensei learns by ear.
