Matt Heumann Posted May 26, 2025 Posted May 26, 2025 (edited) In 2006, I wrote a lullabye for our Italian friends' first child, named Matteo. I wanted it to sound Italian, but have some of that brooding, solemn quality like the waltz in The Godfather. I didn't play it very often, and almost forgot about it. On July 12th, 2022, I sent a copy of the melody to our friend Randy Stein, asking if he could make it into something wonderful. Three days later, he sent back this wonderful setting for English Concertina. In addition to arranging, he also adapted & modified the melody to give it more expression. I didn't mind at all, it was so much richer than my original melody version. Randy didn't intend for this recording to be a posted as a refined performance, but graciously agreed to let me share it anyway. Thank-you Randy! Here's the link (hopefully) to the folder with Randy's sound file and the pdf of both the original melody & Randy's arrangement: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/eyjhoqscn2g8ai6c2o56s/AIKoS7q2KTdzOCyituUpYh4?rlkey=spbgy0f4gkcg1lrpdtbw4x5g9&st=gdph3e6w&dl=0 Edited May 27, 2025 by Matthew Heumann corrected text 7
