Dancing Master Hornpipe

Here’s a hornpipe I recently found online in Nigel Gatherer’s Irish Collection.  He called it The Dancing Master, while noting that it was written by Sean Ryan, who named it The Swan.  It’s also known as Aggie White’s.  Played on my 40-button Wheatstone Edeophone 1934 D/A Anglo concertina.  Sheet music here --

It's a common enough tune, especially since  the Fisherstreet recording.  I have never heard anyone call it the Dancing master, other than the Buttons and Bows recording.

A lot of the  players of a certain generation almost invariably went into the Fairy Queen (the hornpipe, not the Carolan one) after the Swan, and that works well. It was a regular combination but I can't  think where the pairing originated.

I remember a particular night in autumn 1996 in O'Connor's in Cloonadrum, Mullagh, Bobby Casey,Junior Crehan, Joe Ryan, Michael Sexton    Kevin Taylor (and probably others I can't  recall right now, PJ Crotty, probably) playing those tunes. I recorded them and learned the Fairy Queen the same week, I moved the Swan down to G, that suited me better.
