Concertina and fiddle together -could hardly be bettered. Many thanks.
Jody Kruskal Posted November 6 Author Posted November 6 Hi Tiposx, I'm so pleased that you liked it. I've been playing with Lisa for decades but far too rarely. I was to play a wedding near her place and we got together before my gig. What an amazing performer she is. 1
Jody Kruskal Posted Tuesday at 04:56 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:56 PM Jody Kruskal plays Hole in the Wall on the G/D Anglo concertina. This tune is currently a popular English country dance though written by Henry Purcell hundreds of years ago. It’s the hornpipe from his Abdelazer suite, played SLOW with a flexible tempo. 3
Matt Heumann Posted Tuesday at 06:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:06 PM Your slower version makes me think think Purcell and Pachelbel were hangin' out together since Hole in the Wall and Pachelbel's Canon share a lot of phrasing and were both written about the same time. Chicken or the Egg? 1
