German concertina/Mrs. O'Dwyer/Scholer

Hello. I have a few questions which I'd really appreciate if anyone can answer.

1) How similar is the old double reeded German concertina played by Mrs. Eileen O'Dwyer to East German Scholer double reeded concertinas (in terms of type of reeds and sound)?

2) Did the old pre-war German concertinas have the same reeds as the East German scholers?

3) Did either of these have 'concertina' or accordion reeds?

4) How similar/different is the sound of the single reeded pre-war German boxes and the Scholers to melodeons or accordions if they are played using only one reed?

5) Are there any resources for Mrs. O'Dwyer's arrangements?

Sorry I couldn't  be more helpful on the technical issues. 

 

As far as I know the concertina is still held in Aras Oidteacht and Chlair. If you are ever around Clare and want to have a look at it.

Just received my copy, this morning, Monday, from Custy's Ennis

Good man John, of Custy's, very helpful,

may I recommend that shop, for all your needs, soundwise.

 

Started about 4 pm, tipping along, with my CG Anglo.

They all fit well on d'Anglo.

Danced sets, to most of those tunes, back in the day.

Nice trip down that lane.

 

Love that it was played by the ladies, knew one or two, all great girls.
