Trishab Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Lachenal Anglo Concertina Bb/F 32 Button Metal End S/N 169956 - about 1906 Bought from Chris at Barleycorn 2021 - refurbished by them including new bellows - (same bellows as they fit to Jeffries) Lovely looking instrument, sounds great and has a nice fast action and is very responsive, comes with a hard box In lovey overall condition It has a novelty bird whistle button and lovely detail to the sides of the metal ends. The price is UK sterling - £3000 Contact me for any extra info you need I have been asked if I had the original Barleycorn description from when I bought it - it was listed on the website at the time as a "A beautiful instrument at the very top end of Lachenal's output-a 32-Key in Bb/F"
hjcjones Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I already have a Bb/F so I'm not looking to buy, but I'm interested to see the fretwork around the edge of the action box. Many years ago I had a 40-button Lachenal C/G which was similar. Apart from the one now on sale I think I've seen only one other instrument with this feature, and that only in a photo. 1
Trishab Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Yes I haven't seen one like it either but it definitely adds to the concertina - when I bought it I was told it was at the high end of the lachenals. this might be a better photo for you to see - wonder if anyone else out there has one with similar fretwork would be nice to see . 1
djangojessie Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Here is a Wheatstone 48 key from 1850s with similar cut out in the action board but it only in 2 sections each side. This Concertina is in the concertina shop Australia Patrick 1
