He worked as a lineman for the utility co. and could do a hand stand atop a telephone pole and walk out to the mailbox on his hands and get the mail with his feet etc.. He played an old beat up cornet while my mother banged out stride on the old upright. Perhaps there's a connection between that sort of coordination and musical prowess.
