The Invention of the Maccann Duet Concertina

While we've been using 1884 (the date of the patent) in all our discussions on the Maccann Duet, there's now a new brief note up at The Concertina Journal on this subject, with much of the material from the pen of Maccann himself, writing in 1882. This shows that Maccann invented his system sometime in 1880. Enjoy!

Hello Wes, Do you have any date of build on a 72 key  Maccan serial number stamped in the right position is 836. I believen it is a New model having raised metal ends but larger diameter buttons that could be of or Erinoid or similar material.
