Matthew Heumann Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Written by Harold Percival Croydon "Duke" Tritton (1886-1965), an Australian poet, folk singer and shearer. It was one of the first folksongs that I ever sang with concertina. My lyrics may have strayed over the years, but the sentiment is the same, a lovely, nostalgic poem indeed! Couldn't resist the "vintage film" effect...... Matthew Heumann Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 Regrettably, I just heard a valve stucking part way through the first verse, but then seemed to right itself, but isn't that just part of the fun/frustration of free-reeds.
Matthew Heumann Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 Jody: Thanks, do you remember that every time I've sung that song at NESI, you've commented: "Do you actually know what those terms mean?" So, I provided you with the glossary subtitles this time.😀 1
