Mikefule Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) Hi, all, My stepdad found this among my late mum's papers. She had saved it since 1998, and it is written in his hand, but he cannot remember it. It's certainly not his own composition. Seems to be some sort of folky waltz, although it could be the melody of a song or even a theme tune from a TV show? My stepdad is 91 years old, and grieving the recent loss of the woman he loved since 1956, so he feels he needs to know what this tune is so he can understand why it was important to her. Any clues, anyone? Thanks Edited March 8 by Mikefule
Robin Harrison Posted April 16 Posted April 16 This a sweet, sweet story, Mike........hope it works out. Robin
RAc Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I just ran the melody through folktunefinder.com and waded through the 51 pages of hits it gave me when filtering for waltzes... to no success. Yet the search engine on that site, although a nice try, is not very good, so the tune may still be buried somewhere there. Best of luck! 1
John Wild Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I typed it up in ABC and exported it as a midi file. Perhaps listening to it here will give somebody a further clue. Unnamed waltz.mid 1
