Thanks for your kind comment. I’m restoring a Wheatstone made in 1852. When it has been completed, I will add the corner blocks. I will also add 8 brass corner covers as soon as I travel to Grand Forks ND to buy them at Menards.

Celtic knotwork, very nice.

 

I agree with Alex, you need the corner blocks to hold the bellows fully compressed and the padding might be a bit light?

Thanks for your comments Dave! I’ll figure out the dimensions of the corner blocks once I have installed the new bellows I made. There’s still a long way to go before that happens. The blue foam looks thin but it is closed cell foam. This provides as much protection as thicker open cell foam. It also does not absorb humidity.
