alex_holden Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Nice design! Will you add corner blocks inside to support the instrument?
Lappy Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 (edited) Thanks for your kind comment. I’m restoring a Wheatstone made in 1852. When it has been completed, I will add the corner blocks. I will also add 8 brass corner covers as soon as I travel to Grand Forks ND to buy them at Menards. Edited January 31 by Lappy 1
d.elliott Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Celtic knotwork, very nice. I agree with Alex, you need the corner blocks to hold the bellows fully compressed and the padding might be a bit light?

I’ll figure out the dimensions of the corner blocks once I have installed the new bellows I made. There’s still a long way to go before that happens. The blue foam looks thin but it is closed cell foam. This provides as much protection as thicker open cell foam. It also does not absorb humidity.
