Kerry Mac Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Hello, I have a Lachenal and Co Concertina handed down to me by my late grandfather. I was wondering if anyone might know the approx date it was produced by the serial number on the end of the instrument. It has steel reeds and comes with original box. The serial number is 174866.
wes williams Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Its an anglo. Pop a message on the end of this thread with a few more details (number of buttons, wood or metal ends, etc) and I'll give you an approx date.
Kerry Mac Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 (edited) Thanks Wes. It’s wooden ends, 10 ivory buttons on the serial number side and 11 ivory buttons, (1 button on its own) on the Lachenal brand side. Hope this helps Edited January 27 by Kerry Mac
Duncan Luddite Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Hey @Kerry Mac, There's an opportunity to meet a bunch of knowledgable, and enthusiastic, concertina people this coming weekend in Yackandandah. https://concertinaaustralia.org/concon25-prog.html https://concertinaaustralia.org/concon25-pres.html It's only $30 for the whole weekend. https://events.humanitix.com/concertina-convergence-2025 For if you're interested. Will be my first time going as I only got my first concertina late last year. Cheers Duncan Edited January 27 by Duncan Luddite

He meant the thread that is linked by the underlined words “this thread” in his post. Click them, find your way to the bottom of the last page and post your information there.
