Wheatstone Tenor Treble English Concertina

1927 31xxx The peak of what is known as the Golden Era of Wheatstone.

56 buttons plus air button. 6-folds. Tuned to A440. 4 octaves, C to C.

Restored to high standards in the UK. New nickel plating.

Selected out of a dozen Chris Algar instruments for its tone, dynamics and responsiveness. This is a best of the best highly sought after tenor treble.

Selling due to illness in family / medical expenses and loss of income. I’m open to all reasonable offers.

Prefer a local sale but will possibly ship within the USA or Canada.

It used to be mine. I only let it go, because I'm dissolving my collection. Many years ago I decided that I needed a ME 56 key TT für the collection. In my opinion Concertinas and Aeolas with the serial-numbers 31xxx are by far the best!? So I drove to Chris Algar's place and tried out a dozen of ME Aeola TTs. Finally I picked this on... I understand that the new owner had the ends replated, so it must be in as good as new condition... The seller also bought my 56 key Amboyna TT Aeola, which was done up by Steve Dickinson. It is of course a 31xxx instrument and simply the best you can get...

Thanks Robert, You once said that I was your best customer! :)  Very encouraging. I too thank you for all the help over the last 10 years or so.  I was happy to purchase this one from you and now very sad to let it go but that’s the way life is.  I just can’t keep it when I have medical bills to pay for with the interest accumulating.

It is a top shelf instrument, one of the best in its class as you said; right in the middle of the golden era!  I’ve been playing it as my full time instrument lately to make sure that it is played in well and have been thoroughly enjoying it.  It has perfect volume and amazing tone, dynamics, musical expression, etc.

Sound clips and additional photos are available upon request.

if anyone one is interested, please send me a PM with your email address.
