David Silver Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Morse #1392 made in Sunderland, MA. C/G, Jefferies layout, 30 button, cherry wood finish. Good to excellent condition with case. Sadly, I can no longer play due to degenerative disc disease, severe arthritis and upper arm muscular weakness. $2500 includes continental USA shipping with insurance.
Maureen Peck Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Do you have more photos of this concertina? I'm quite interested.
David Silver Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 Figured out how to send photos to you Maureen (obviously!) I can have my son take a video of the instrument being played. I am in a neck brace until the end of January so I won't attempt a tune, but at least you would have a sound file. David
David Silver Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 I can send you a video of the concertina being played (sort of). I am recovering from major surgery on my neck at the end of October and several of my vertebrae are fused. This limits my movement and in addition I have muscular weakness in both my arms. I had always hoped that I would be able to play again but I have to accept the reality that I just cannot do it anymore. If you give me your email address, I'll send the video. Although it is a very short video, it is too large to send in this format. David
Raphael Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Hello Mr.Silver! I am currently playing on a Concertine Italia. I am looking to upgrade as I have been playing for a year. I was wondering if it may be possible to arrange an in-person meeting to test and potentially purchase this fine instrument.
digver Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I started with a Stagi (Concertina Italia) last December and moved up to the Morse Ceili a few months later. The two are worlds apart! Being new to the concertina it wasn't an issue to switch over to the Jeffries layout.
RGG Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I own a Morse C/G (in the 1600s) and can attest that it is a great step up into the intermediate instrument category, perfect moving from Stagi or similar beginning concertina.
