Diagnosing causes of "slowness"

I posted my new end plate pics in a new topic because It worked for me.

 

The black ones are +- 1.9 mm, the wood laminate prototype is slightly thicker.  All done from a single photo ( of each end ). The fancy work was sampled from below the hand rest.  They are not attached yet but I'll be using Scotch removable mounting squares ( very thin ).  2 passes with the laser for the wood, 5 for the plastic.  the resulting playability is fantastic.  The holes are over sized so the buttons can still lean which helps with the slip/slide.
