Seth Swingle
SOLD on FB Jones 30 button Anglo concertina for sale; mahogany-ended with steel reeds. It’s been worked on by Greg Jowaisas and Bob Snope in the last year and has been tuned to A440 and has new pads and valves as needed, as well as patched original bellows. Since it has the Jones “broad reeds,” it’s not as fast as a top-end Lachenal, Wheatstone or Jeffries, but it does have riveted action and a Jeffries-style parallel reed pan. Jones tend to be favored by singers since they have a notably sweet tone, and I think this one really shines in the lower octave. This was the concertina I learned on, but now I have a Kensington, so it’s time for this one to find a new home. Since I’ve just had it repaired, it’s in perfect playing condition and should last for years without any repairs. Comes with a Pelican-style hard case. Shipping should be about $35 within the US, buyer pays. I’m also willing to ship abroad. If you have any questions, let me know!
