Players in Edinburgh for advice etc

Hi

Looking to see if there are any Edinburgh based players on here. I have had my 30 key Anglo Concertina for a couple of years now and have been writing and recording some songs with chords I have mostly translated over from my songwriting on guitar and keys. I'm getting more and more confident with recording, but am now looking to play live, and looking for advice on maybe rounding out the chords and seeing if there is anything I can do to polish up my performance. My set-up is my concertina, some synths and drum machines, vocals and hopefuly some effects pedals.

Would be good to pick the brains of some local players in person, but anyone else that fancies offering some advice, please feel free. Thanks. Matt

I know some of the anglo concertina players in Edinburgh but there aren't many.  I'm SW of Glasgow if that's any use sometime?  And I can put you in touch with the Central Scotland Concertina Group if you're interested (mostly English system players)

Thanks for this. All that help would be great.  The closer I get to potentially playing live, the more I realise, I'll probably need a proper player. Any help is greatly appreciated though.

I am an Anglo player in Edinburgh (I think the one Alex referred to). I have been playing for 2-3 years but that was musically from scratch so it sounds like you have more experience generally and I was not sure what you were looking for. I would be happy to meet up to say hello, have a play and a general concertina chat.

Another Edinburgh-based Anglo concertina player here. I've been playing for about 2 years, mostly Irish traditional stuff.  Like Ralph, I didn't play any other instruments before so 'from scratch' too.  I'm in Leith so not far from Easter Road either.  If plans for a meet up emerge, I'd love to join!
