vinmai
Hi, I recently bought a rebranded Stagi off ebay for dirt cheap, since I am very new to making music and I expected some minor issues. There were indeed some, like a splinter stuck in a reed. However, I just noticed another one - one note being very hard to play, as in requiring the bellows moved much more than other notes. In the picture, the note is the one next to the open hole. Seems like air going the wrong way around. What is the preferred way to fix it? mChavez
Easiest is just to drop some reed wax over it (that's pretty much how most accordions are held together). If you don't have reed wax, good wood filler might do the job.
Bassconcertina.net
You could take the reed out and clamp and glue the crack back together, then put the reed back in.
Steve Morrison
Easy repair with some reed wax to fill up the hole.
Theo
Are you sure there is air leaking through this gap? If there is then the note would be very difficult or even impossible to play. An easy way to test is to cover the hole completely with stick tape and see if that makes a significant difference.
