Ken_Coles Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 Looks great Bob, you're always over the top. We need folks like you in the too-serious concertina world!
Chris Timson Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 No Chris, you can't afford it. You can't afford it. Drool ...
stuart estell Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 Excellent! I've been half-hoping to see something like that. Now... where do I sign... er... damn, not again...
caj Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 That's awesome. It looks like it's overheating from playing some really fast tunes. You can take that thing to a session, and if someone comments on the look you can say, "ooh, yikes, looks like I need to adjust the rods in the reactor core." Caj
brightfield Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 You can take that thing to a session, and if someone comments on the look you can say, "ooh, yikes, looks like I need to adjust the rods in the reactor core." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hilarious! Or maybe its just used for Country and Western music. Maybe those good old boys are going to discover the 'tina at last.
Stephen Chambers Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Maybe those good old boys are going to discover the 'tina at last.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not unless you put herringbone trim on it !
JimLucas Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Tobacco has no attraction for me. Do you have anything in a chocolate sunburst? (With whipped cream, maybe? )
Erik Murray Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 It's beautiful. I'm amused by the idea of it seeming over the top or weird in any way. I mean, I get it that Wheatstone etc. didn't do sunbursts but it seems pretty conservative. When a friend put a clear head on his banjo I suggested he then install a flashing neon shamrock inside. That's what I call over the top. He didn't go for it. E

Henrik Müller Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Maybe those good old boys are going to discover the 'tina at last.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not unless you put herringbone trim on it ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, why not? (We've seen gold/brass inlays, mother-of-pearl...). Come to think of it - a bit on the conservative side, though: why not a black/white purfling/trim? The edges on concertina sides are just as sensitive as the body edges on guitars when it comes to damage. Right, Bob, we are waiting... /Henrik
Bob Tedrow Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 I have updated the 2005 tour page with images of the latest journal entries http://hmi.homewood.net/2005tour
Robin Madge Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Gordon Johnson put flashing Christmas lights inside his clear top banjo to be seasonable. Don't quite see it with a concertina though. Robin Madge
RELCOLLECT Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 COOL! It matches my 1967 Memphis Les Paul copy!
