A Wakker dated 2000. Starting bid £1200 Lot 1571 .A Wheatstone No. 27437. Starting bid £1600 Lot 1572 .A Wheatstone Aeola, 56 buttons, No. 35272. Starting bid £1600 and lastly ... Lot 1573. A Wheatstone Aeola, 48 button, No. 34523 (1937) especially made for Alf Edwards & restored in 2009. robert stewart Posted June 3 Share Posted June 3 It certainly looks like the famous "golden" Aeola: Alf Edwards had the bellows gilded, and I think this instrument matches various photos of same. The golden treatment gradually wore off over the years. How do I know: I sold him the Geuns baritone that is for sale as well... conzertino Posted June 5 Share Posted June 5 Once I'm at it: I'm selling Alf Edwards extremely rare metal ended 48 key tenor-treble - in perfect condition without auction-fees!!!?! It is 33075, but has been made to the highest standards and has the traditional labels and riveted action... In the ledgers that number stands for a black model 19a ( 64 key TT ), but I have seen on a few occasions that the ledger was wrong on special custom-made instruments...
