richard Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 (edited) Hello Sorry to blow my own horn but the fab Riggy Rankin concertina player and singer has included and interviewed me for his website's blog "Jews in Irish Music". I am amongst some really great and professional musicians, so a bit out of place, but I like it. If you please have a look. https://riggy.com/jews-in-irish-music-richard-goldberg/ Thanks, Richard Edited May 6, 2023 by richard 1
Jim2010 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 If I remember correctly, the first Jewish mayor of Dublin was in the 1600s. So, I imagine there have been many 'Jews in Irish Music." I have visited the Irish Jewish museum and can recommend it. https://jewishmuseum.ie/
SIMON GABRIELOW Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 It shouldn't matter what your origin, background, belief system, or anything else.. who you are etc.. as to playing any music. Particularly you will have found, I hope, how welcoming and democratic the free reed community is to people of all varieties; this net.com hopefully is an example of that also. ( I say this myself as also a visual artist with a multi national part Polish, heritage) hence my name. (Gabrielow).
