SIMON GABRIELOW
This Sarabanda is originally from a sonata by Corelli; and is often played on more than one instrument. So, I have transposed it to firstly fit the range of Chalumeau, and then afterwards improvised a second accompaniment using my concertina. The two seem to work together quite nicely, with the metallic reeds, contrasting, with the simple single organic reed of my wooden chalumeau, and its wavering voice like tone. One instrument follows closely behind the other, before the chalumeau finishes proceedings on a held note.
