bellowbelle Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I wanted to remove the link that I put in the comments section of my entry number 604, The Crows Know Me, since it's no longer a working link (moved my website). So, I log in okay, but after I adjust it and hit Submit, I get a message telling me that I need to log in....it's kind of a vicious circle. Is it no longer possible to change/delete that? That's the only thing I need to edit, I think.
David Barnert Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Hi, Wendy. I just tried it on the one tune I have entered (I replaced a single letter with the same letter and submitted it) and had no trouble: Update Record Reply Record updated. New search Some things to keep in mind: Your ID and password for the Tune-o-Tron is the same as it was for the old forums, but may be different from what it is in the new forums. Clicking the "remember my name & password" (if you're using your own computer) box may eliminate the need for constant logging on. Here's the exact sequence of events: I searched for the tune and opened its page. I clicked "edit/delete." I made the change and clicked "Update Record." I was told to log in. I logged in using the name and password from the old forums, checking the "remember" box. On the "Welcome" page that came up next, I clicked the link to return to the previous page. I got a message saying that since I was not the person who submitted the tune, I could not edit it. ***** [see below] I went back to the main Tune-o-Tron page and searched again for the tune. I clicked "edit/delete." I made the change and clicked "Update Record." I was rewarded with the message quoted above. I would suggest you log in first and then start the process at the ***** above. The page for the tune, Besser's New Concertina, now includes the phrase: last modified on Jul 9th, 2005
bellowbelle Posted July 10, 2005 Author Posted July 10, 2005 Thanks, Dave. I did manage to get logged in and did the editing successfully, after another few tries. I'm not sure it made the difference, but I searched for the tune by it's title and not by going through my personal Tunebook. (?) Anyway...that's done!
