hielandman
Never heard of it/them, but, it looks very German made, the missing buttons being a trademark of that type of manufacturing, they coming apart from the levers to which they were glued. But, it would be cool for someones collection! Good luck! Don
SIMON GABRIELOW
What a fascinating little thing it is.. it seems to have about twenty buttons ( once repaired)!?
Geoffrey Crabb
I believe they were imported. Not a lot known really. Regarding Thomas William Upcott . 1847-1922 It appears, that up to about 1880 he was, like his father, a saddle/harness maker. From 1891 census and other subsequent records show him as a Musical Instrument Dealer at: 26 Edgeware Road, London. Possibly a reason for the rarity of these instruments, they were/are notorious for rolling off tables at the slightest jolt. Geoff
