Jody Kruskal
Dear Concertina.Net folks, I am chuffed to announce the completion of my latest tune book, Strange Times. 47 new Waltzes, Reels, Jigs, Marches, Polkas and more. In March of 2020, the fear and isolation of the pandemic compelled me back to tune writing after a fallow decade. As the world turned upside down, the tunes came spilling out and I had the opportunity to try them with a handful of skilled musicians on-line. Almost daily, we would play together and as the new tunes were born, many edits and improvements were made. My own personal folk process of workshopping the tunes was accomplished with delight, laugher and friendship. That’s what got me through the dark days. This book is the result. Notemaker
Love the tunes, great playing as well. What make of Concertina do you use? Is it an Anglo? I would love to be able to play those tunes but I am no expert, still learning from Alan Day's excellent tutor. Perhaps you might consider a selection of easier tunes for beginners? Thank you again for the wonderful music, I am very impressed. Best regards ..
Jody Kruskal
Hi Notemaker, I hear you. These are not beginner tunes I'm posting. I'm mostly playing a Jefferies system Anglo in the keys of G/D. That makes it low and rich with a wide range. If you want lessons, I can show you a bunch of easier tunes for you to get started with. Most people have the higher C/G Anglos and they are great too.

SIMON GABRIELOW
They were certainly strange times in those days of recent, but if it gave a creative impulse spark of inspiration.. then that is a positive outcome.🌝
