A fourth generation musician and a native of County Clare, Dr. Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin holds five World Championship Irish music titles: as a concertina player, uilleann piper, and as a member of the renowned Kilfenora Céilí Band. Based at University of Missouri-St Louis and author of "A Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music" (Dublin: O'Brien Press, 1998), ‘Professor’ Ó hAllmhuráin is notably the only traditional musician to hold a North American university Chair of Irish Studies.
