Alan Caffrey
Hi all, I have a CD 'Chieftains' Collection' volume 2. Now on track 4 they refrain: 'If I had a wife, the plague of my wife..etc." but what is the underlying tune..I think it's a slipjig but the tune is not notated on this collection. It does say it is from 'Cheiftains 6' but I don't have that CD...thanks for any help...Alan.

Hope this helps, Cheers Morgana

I have the vinyl, but it is digitized now, in the Mac at work. It is a slide, I believe. Let me hunt a while. /Henrik
Guest Peter Laban
It's a slide, the Humours of Mountcollins. it's also on Denis Murphy's RTE CD. The Chieftains learned it off Denis.

Henk van Aalten
I can't afford a Jeffries and a wife! Derek <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Depends on the choice of wife....(with a lot of cash!) Which reminds on "The Choice Wife": a great slip jig (aka "An Phis Fhluich")
