Lawrence Reeves
I have been going to Clare for years to attend Irish concertina festivals. Eigse Mrs. Crotty, the Concertina Cruinniú, and Consairtín. How many people here would like to see a similar event in North America?I would never want to take away from the events in Ireland, but think a fair number of players in North America could enjoy a get together on this side of the Atlantic. Please chime in if you think it a good idea, and direct message me if wanting to be involved with planning.
David Barnert
People come to the NorthEast Squeeze-In (NESI) every year from further away than North Carolina. This year it’s in Connecticut, September 16-18, 2022. Space is still available. Sure, it’s not just concertinas. We have to share the experience with accordions and melodeons, but they don’t bite (well, most of them). No hired teaching staff. Whoever wants to lead a session chooses a time and place and puts a post-it note on the schedule grid. I’ve been going for almost 30 years. Great fun!
