Kimric Smythe of Smythe's Accordion Center gave me a sticker made from this historic magazine cover, and I absolutely love it. I have no idea why the American GI has a concertina (or a monkey on his shoulder), but the energy is just great.

It seems to depict "the GI as a busker" - in that street musicians (especially Italian ones) were typically depicted as having a macaca/macaque monkey to help draw/entertain the crowd.

From the magazine this would appear to be from the time of WW2.  Ironic then that the American soldier is playing a German concertina!
