Johann Joachim Quantz that important figure in flute playing history, and composer to Frederick the Great; Very good music to play, and rewarding.

My approach is to take the melody only [flute exercises] and add chords as you wish, and it provides more nuance in a way that he probably never originally intended. I don't know what he would have thought about instrument now played on.. however  most composers at that time were more universal in their approach, than at other times; Sarabande is followed by a Double.
