'Metal Reeds' stamp on a Jones concertina

Can anybody tell me what the 'Metal Reeds' stamp on the end of a Jones 20b concertina refers to - Brass or Steel?

Yes! Take a look inside a Bontempi Hit Organ, or similar, they have monolithic reeds and reedplates cut from a perspex like material.
