marimo-maiden Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022  Just thought I'd share what I doodled the other day~ Hope everyone reading this is doing well. 🌹  I've been in a sort of art block for a long time, so it's nice to just draw simple things I like: Richard Scarry inspired cats and concertina. I wasn't paying any attention to accuracy on the instrument though, haha. You're going to have to pretend that "cat concertinas" have odd button arrangements accounting for their paws.  And if you're curious, it started as a graphite pencil drawing, which I took a picture of with my phone and colored it in Clip Studio Paint. I fell into the old bad habit from school of drawing on lined paper; I did my best to minimize that in post too. (Also, please don't use this image without asking me first. Thank you!)  9

Luke Hillman Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 This is great! Has sort of a Beatrix Potter vibe, too. And the instrument looks like a perfectly reasonable Anglo or German one— definitely closer than anything Disney ever produced 🤣 1
Daniel Hersh Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) Very nice! Here's another concertina-playing cat, but not as nice as yours:  Edited February 6, 2022 by Daniel Hersh 1
SIMON GABRIELOW Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Well, they always say cat gut strings on violin use! So who knows.. Don't worry, incidentally, about sketching onto lined paper, as it's not unusual to take what's at hand when you have an idea( I've been known to doodle on a scrap of my shopping list sometimes, rather than my art paper!).. 1
