Reillz Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Hi guys! I'm new and sort of crap on the concertina but really want to play this song would anyone be able to figure out what the notes are or be able to give any ideas. Here's the video > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9ivkRyOEJs I've begun to try and figure it out by ear but I'm finding it tough and inaccurate. So if anyone has tips on good strategies for that type of thing, they'd be appreciated.
PaddyLosty Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 What key is your concertina in? It doesn't look like Radie is playing her usual Dipper there, and it sounds to be in G/D or somewhere thereabouts. Its a pretty simple tune if you are able to transpose it to your instrument.
SIMON GABRIELOW Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Not sure of notes used in tune ( video) yet.. but is best in 3/4 time, to me at least; it may be possible to find notes by repeated watching of video. Then gradually write it down.
Don Taylor Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 (edited) Isn't this the same tune as Biddy Mulligan by the Dubs? If so: https://www.irish-folk-songs.com/biddy-mulligan-lyrics-and-chords.html The chords are embedded in the lyrics and you can scroll down for the full score. Well, maybe not quite, but apparently Daffodil Mulligan is the daughter of Biddy Mulligan. Edited July 30, 2023 by Don Taylor
SqueezyC Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 A great song!. I transcribed it from the recording by Lankum (formally known as Lynched) Daffodil Mulligan copy.pdf
