Interesting layout? Edited January 22, 2021 by JenStClair
Stephen Chambers
Probably the most useless layout ever devised, with a very limited piano layout (on which you can't even use your thumbs to play because of the hand straps)... It looks like it was made in Germany, possibly by Andreas Koch because they used similar quatrefoil holes in the grilles of some of their accordions.
TapTheForwardAssist
Do I recall right there's some kind of online "museum" of concertina variant photos? Any way to get this info over there for the record?
JenStClair
I’m curious as to whether it would be setup like an English or an Anglo. I’m guessing English?

Neither. It fingers like a piano, as I said - but useless to a piano player because they couldn't use their thumbs on it.
JenStClair
Oh, OK. Gotcha. Sorry. 😔 I meant the push and pull/different notes or same notes. I would assume same note on push/pull.

On this one, yes. But some of them have the chromatic piano layout on the right hand side, and diatonic German (Anglo) layout on the left.

Imagine if Chico could play the concertina the way he played the piano.

There is a vast archive of documentation on many types of concertinas, including extensive photos of the inner workings of each. Search "Jedcertina" with Ctrl +F and you'll find a concertina just like the aforementioned. https://www.concertinamuseum.com/cmusindex1.htm
