Robin Harrison Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 I've just dragged these two hornpipes up from my memory.............they were popular session tunes in the UK in the 80's. The tunes I can remember not the names. Any help ? Thanks Robin Hornpipe #1.pdf Hornpipe #2.pdf
John, Wexford Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 The first tune is the Boys of Bluehill. You should check out the Seamus Ennis version on the Session.org, version 8, for a lovely little wrinkle on the tune. For the life of me, I can't think of the name of the 2nd one.
Wolf Molkentin Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 can't identify the 2nd either, but it's more than familiar...
Robin Harrison Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 Well done team C.net ! Thanks both............of course ! Wolf.....Sligo Fancy and aka Marquis of Lorne ! Quote You should check out the Seamus Ennis version on the Session.org, version 8, for a lovely little wrinkle on the tune. Will have a look; thanks Boys of Bluehill..............I recall now the poor tune was played mercilessly to within and inch of it's life and I (we) stopped playing it. Now, 35-40yrs later I realise why we played it so much...it's a lovely. Thanks again Robin 1
Wolf Molkentin Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 we used to play them one after the after, but just on a yearly basis 🥳
