The  best  way to  do  this  sort of  thing  is  to  record  the  piece  and  play it  back  using a speed control  device  that  you can set  to  give    the tune in  small sections  ( phrases)   as  in  an   A/B setting.  Pressing the  A/B  button  at  the start of a phrase  and  pressing it  again  at  the  end, the  device  will  then play  that part  of  the tune  again and again  as you play  along at  a pace that  suits you. 

Many  small  digital  recorders  have  these  functions  or  you can  plug it  into  your computer  and  use  one  of  the  downloadable  slow down   programes  available on  the  Web, some are even  free.   These  tools  usually  come with a tuning  range  which  can  be  helpfull   to  put  the recorded  piece  into  a  key  that  suits  you  and your instrument.
