Stephen Chambers Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 (edited) We've had previous discussion about 30-key Anglo-system concertinas branded "Wizard Anglo" turning up, both in England and South Africa (Anglo Wizard and Wizard Anglo On Ebay - Any Thoughts?), which are basically earlier incarnations (with individual lever mechanisms and flat-mounted reeds) of the Bastari/Stagi/Brunner W-15 model. But now a 20-key "Wizard BY Bastari, MADE IN ITALY" German-fingering concertina (it has G-press/D-draw on the lowest button of the G row) has come to light at a Co. Clare rubbish dump (so no previous history known), and I got asked to make it playable as a "starter" instrument for the finder's daughter. Ken_Coles Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 Stephen, So is this (the one farther down the page) the same model as the 30-key wizard? Ken

Ken_Coles Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 After two decades, I've learned even more about concertinas than I knew before - thanks Stephen. Ken
nkgibbs Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) I suppose that complexity in the action allows for simplicity in the ends? ......don’t use simple Lachenalesque rods and hoop pivots, because then the button holes have to be accurate? Edited November 19, 2020 by nkgibbs
