Mariette
Hi Jackdaw, I am very interested in this! I'm no concertina expert but i think it is an anglo rather than an English, do you have a picture of the ends? I've been burning through cheap ones and thinking about getting a better/older one and getting it refurbished for a long time now...

The pictures definitely show an English; you can tell by the thumb loop straps and finger plates.
Bazza12
Definitely an English, but relatively small number of buttons. The "normal" Englsh" has 48 buttons.

Sprunghub
I think this is an interesting little English, because it has a lot of a Lachenal 'look' about it, but there are images in the Concertina Museum pages of 32 button Wheatstone "early" english concertinas, some with unusual fretwork. The serial number might tell more. Those early Wheatstone's have similar bellows papers and were from the time LL was still at/with Wheatstone's.
