Stephen Chambers
Sad news from County Clare: Gerald Haugh, who was recorded in his house in 1974 for Irish Traditional Concertina Styles (released by Topic in 1977), and All-Ireland Concertina Champion 1975 (I was at the Fleadh competition, in Buncrana, when he won), died on Sunday. His Death Notice is here on RIP.ie Edited August 25, 2020 by Stephen Chambers Edited to correct link.

Geoff Wooff
Oh, that is sad. I enjoyed a short chat with Gerald at last year's Willie Clancy summer school and he was in fine playing form then.
PaddyLosty
We're losing too many great ones lately. May their music live on.
Peter Laban
I just saw the news when checking the obits at Clare fm. Very sorry to hear. One of the last of the old style players from that corner of the county. I hadn't seen him for a while, between the lockdown and everything else but he was always ready for a chat or to play a tune, if he had the concertina handy. Here's the deathnotice on Clare FM : https://www.clare.fm/obituaries/gerald-haugh-lissycasey/ Edited August 25, 2020 by Peter Laban
