otsaku
Seriously thanks to all of you. Tis a great community here. From my first desperate grope on the road to concertinaring til now you've all been very helpfull. A big thanks to Jim who has the dubious luck to be in relative close proximity to me and will live to regret it. I wish I was able to get to the ssi this year so I could meet a few more of you. Having said that we may be acquiring a... hmm funny this I can't find an english equivalent - small allotment with a wooden shack on it ( kolonihavehus maybe Jim will have more luck at translating this ). So maybe I should host a copenhagen squeeze in. Eeek Anyways thanks again, I've been to a lot of music forums and none have been this responsive. Maybe I should be worried The secret sect of the concertinarists has me in their grasp.
Rod Thompson
Maybe I should be worried "be afraid - be very afraid". or perhaps "Abandon hope all ye who enter here". (I can't think of any English word for "kolonihavehus" , but maybe the New Zealand word "batch" is close)?
Chris Ghent
Rod The NZ word is pronounced "batch" but spelled "bach". This caused one of my children endless grief when he encountered the composer's work at school. In the south of New Zealand the term for the same thing is "crib". More than you wanted to know..! Chris Timson
So maybe I should host a copenhagen squeeze in. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Might I encourage you in this thought? Shame we won't see you at the SSI. Cheers, Chris
Samantha
"kolonihavehus" no doubt translates into Russian as дача (dacha) ... but that's not very helpful, is it? Samantha PS why not come to the Arran Concertina Event instead this year? (Edited to add PS) Edited March 31, 2005 by Samantha
