Concertina in hot/humid weather

Hello all,

I may be potentially living in Hawaii later this summer working for a month, and I'd be living in a (very well sheltered) tent. I have a very nice case for my concertina and it definitely would be safe from water and other hazardous elements, but would the general heat/humidity of Hawaii be harmful towards it?

Get in touch with Clark Ratliffe (clark@celticwaves.net) who has an Irish band in Honolulu (Celtic Waves) and also runs an Irish session (https://www.facebook.com/groups/hawaiirish). There is a concertina player that comes to the sessions.

 

Of course, the sessions are not happening these days, and who knows what the summer will bring, but he might be able to get an answer to your question and invite you to the sessions, if they're happening.

 

I was at a conference in Honolulu five years ago and got in touch with him then. The timing didn't work out for me to attend a session (wrong week), so I've never met him, but I've been on his mailing list ever since.
