Daniel Hersh Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Very nice playing here. It's a Facebook video - I hope it's visible to those not on Facebook. 3
Richard Farmery Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Excellent musicianship. I've been playing the first tune in this set for a few months now - nowhere near as good as Padraig though. Does anyone know the name of the tune and who wrote it? I've written some notation for this but am reluctant to publish in case it is covered by copyright. Thanks Rich.
Leonard Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 (edited) Visible for me. I'm not on Facebook. Thanks for sharing. Edited November 17, 2019 by Leonard typo

Peter Laban Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Quote Quote I hope it's visible to those not on Facebook. Nothing to see for me but I block trackers and all sort of unwanted stuff rigorously so that would explain it.

I have looked on TheSession website, and it does indeed appear to be 'The Sunny Hills of Beara'. What a great tune. Mystery solved! Much appreciated, Rich.
Richard Farmery Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 I have uploaded my tab for this tune in the Teaching & Learning forum. Enjoy, Rich.

Peter Laban Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 A direct link works Daniel. I think elements of the original post got blocked because of the Facebook trackers in it. The tune is one of the 'pop tunes' this summer. I have come across it numerous times and have it on a 'to do' list. John Dwyer recorded it on his own Cd some years ago. Glór is putting on a bit more traditional music after a bit of a lull. Which is a good thing, it's a nice venue. Tonight has the big Mary MacNamara do : https://glor.ie/events/morglor-award-concert-2019-celebrating-mary-macnamara/
Aldon Sanders Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 Great playing! What's the name of the last tune? It's familiar & I've played it before, but the title eludes me.
