Bazza12 Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Hi all. Has any one ever tried to or knows how to re-colour black bone buttons, whose tops are now beginging to show the original colour due to age/wear & tear. These belong on my 48 key English Lachenal, which I am contemplating restoration. Thanks for any replies.
mdarnton Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 I use a lot of India ink in my shop for this kind of job, but not on bone. I suspect it would do the job, though.
Bazza12 Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 Thanks for that info. It might be worth a try.
wunks Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 You could try an ebony touch up pen (like a magic marker but made for various woods). Minwax makes them among others.
Bazza12 Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 Thanks for the info. I'll try that if I can find the item.
