When was my Lachenal made?

Recommended Posts

I know that it isn't an exact science but it is interesting to have a guide, if possible.

I have just exchanged my 20 button Lachenal (serial 74298) for a nice 30 button Lachenal from Barleycorn Concertinas.

Buried on the inside is a stamp with 124088.

Can anyone give me a clue as to the age of this one?

Made circa 1892.

Wood or metal fretwork? Bone or metal buttons? Steel or brass reeds? 5- fold or

6-fold Bellows?

Wood fretwork, bone buttons, steel reeds - not sure of original count but now has 6 fold bellows. I understand that is standard for Chris Algar.
