Mike Dut
I recently purchased a Rock Chidley concertina from a famous dealer it had been tuned , new pads etc is in an original case. it has I believe nickel silver reeds. Wooden ends probably bone buttons but not sure. I would like to get at least half my investment back. I paid £800 but would accept £450 .. The arthritis in my thumb just makes it to painful to play.. A bargain I think!
Wolf Molkentin
Pity that you have to give up playing Mike! As to the reeds, they will most likely have been made of either steel or brass. Best wishes - Wolf
Mike Dut
I am assured they are nickel silver reeds by two repairers, I need the cash to fettle a 39 key Lachenal Duet that I have. I recently took up this system and am really please with the possibilities it offers. And the straps pass around the back of my hand! . The Rock Chidley is good , it really plays fine but pulls too much on my thumbs on the draw. I am 77 , I will never give up playing music on something!
