mathhag Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I am hoping someone would be willing to post a very simple version of Banish Misfortune. I am very new to any instrument and learn best when I know the tune well. Thanking you in advance
mathhag Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Oh I am in the states where we have a an awful lot of misfortune to banish
Halifax Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Oh we are on the same wavelength! I've been listening (on repeat) to Noel Hill's version on his new album: The Irish Concertina 3: Live in New York. You can buy the track directly from the publisher (Jack Talty's Raelach Records) or just listen a few times here: https://raelachrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-irish-concertina-3-live-in-new-york Christine
Mjolnir Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 As a general resource, check out thesession.com for scores of various Irish pieces. If you have a program like MuseScore on your computer, you can copy over the ABC notation from thesession, and play the tune back at whatever tempo feels comfortable. I always find it helpful when trying to get around a new piece.
