Free Tutor Missing

Sadly it looks as if my free concertina tutor has been removed.

It was on the Etan Ben Ami site but the link seems to be down.

If anyone finds it or can host the tutor please advise.

Please note that you do not have to have a Dropbox account to access these files although Dropbox will try to persuade you to join if you are not already a member. You can ignore their admonitions and just download the files.

Jeez, I didn't think anyone was interested in it anymore. I haven't thought about it in years. My web analytics showed no traffic. Has someone else hosted it?

I've just checked and I have all the files. They just got disconnected in a website revision. I'd like someone else to be their custodian. Please tell me who I can send them to.

Hello Alan, my profound thanks for your Anglo Tutorial which I have just downloaded via the kindness of Don Taylor. I'm a very new, newbie to the world of concertinas and although anticipated purchasing an English version ( made more sense to me), fate provided a 20 button Anglo. I'm looking to take things slowly and hopefully not develop too many bad habits or short cuts. I don't read music but am attempting to rectify this also. Your Tutorial will be perfect, especially the exercises and notes about the keys etc. My Mac computer does not recognise the .XSC files but the sound files all appear to be there. I wonder how many have benefited from your Tutorial over the years... quite a few I expect. Thank you again, any other recommendations or suggestions gratefully accepted. I'll see what I can do about the .XSC files ( sure there must be a quick solution).

 

 

My best wishes from Melbourne, Australia and I'll keep the board posted with my progress but I expect this to be slow... then again there's always the English if it simply proves impossible.

Many thanks for your posting and good luck.The early excersizes are the important ones ,try not to rush through and on to the tunes before you have mastered the left with right combination.It has been pointed out that there are many ways to play music not just my style ,but it will do you no harm.The Tutor (originally recorded for a friend and not for distribution) has found it's way around the World.I did originally burn CD copies and send them out but it proved too expensive so i owe a great favour to those kind enough to host this on their site.

Your posting and many others have made it worthwhile.

Ok, I am going to have to do a bit of digging and modify the .zip file.

 

XSC files are produced by the Transcribe! program (recommended) and probably should not be there at all. I suspect that they were produced by Transcribe! when I played some of Alan's mp3 files through Transcribe! to hear them in a different key.

 

I will check and remove them if they are, as I suspect, redundant.

 

In the meantime, I would recommend that you ignore the XSC files.

Many thanks for all your comments on this tutor. I have had messages of thanks Worldwide   Initially I sent out free CDs, but it was costing me a fortune. This tutor was originally posted to a friend on this site and has been offered FOC ever since. It is really just a description of how I learnt the Anglo Concertina Thanks to Don Taylor for giving it a home.for anyone who wants a copy .
